Maxine Roles, Candidate of too many Words
Senator Mark Obenshain, the 26th Senate District Republican from the Valley, is being challenged by Democrat Maxine Roles of Page County. Obenshain spoke to the JMU College Republicans this evening. He spoke passionately about his common sense philosophy verses the altered sense of Democrats who hope to take over Virginia’s State Senate.
Obenshain’s words reminded me of two recent incidents where Mrs. Roles spoke passionately about her beliefs. Roles in a recent newspaper article in the Page News and Courier answered the question, “what makes you the most qualified candidate for this position?” this way:
“I don’t know if I would say I am the most qualified candidate for the position. As you may already know, I have no real political background. I am running this race because I believe that we have not been represented in this district as we should. My sole purpose here is to give every citizen every right that I claim for myself”.
On the radio today Roles said one of the few things Virginia could do to impact immigration would be to coax illegal immigrants to return to their country of origin by taking away their jobs. Who will take their jobs? Well Roles says that we should release prisoners so they can take their jobs!
Roles will certainly get at least 20% of the vote! To note, Julie Daniel, former JMU College Republican Chair, is running Obenshain’s campaign.
