Guess Who’s Back?
Just when you thought it couldn’t get any better, he’s back. Yes that’s right, as I’m sure everyone knows, our good friend the Rev. Jeremiah Wright is back and better than ever. Belting out such classics as ‘the government gave AIDS to blacks’ and ‘we deserved 9/11,’ Wright made the rounds on Sunday and Monday, sitting down for an interview with PBS’s Bill Moyers and then getting down at the National Press Club, where he introduced new hits like ‘Farrakhan’s my friend’ and ‘Obama’s just a politician.’
Wright also introduced the ironic podium dance number ‘I ain’t bombastic’ as well as a cover version of Farrakhan’s seminal hit ‘Zionism is a gutter religion.’ The good Reverend also claimed that “You cannot do terrorism on other people and never expect it to come back on you,” was a Biblical principle. While I am no theologian, a quick check of my red-letter edition says that that’s not quite what Jesus said.
Regardless of whether it was Jeremiah or Jesus who said those words, they are good for Republicans. On behalf of the GOP, I would personally like to thank the Rev. Wright for his excellent volunteer efforts on the campaign trail. His tireless work on behalf of the GOP has been tremendous and has gone a long way toward securing John McCain’s victory in November. We are very grateful for his dedication and we hope to be able to continue our fruitful relationship in the future.
Seriously, if this campaign cycle doesn’t demonstrate just how inept the Democrats are at running anything, then nothing will. This was supposed to be a smooth victory for Jackson’s Party, the nomination was supposed to be nothing more than a coronation, with Dennis Kucinich as court jester. Instead, their left wing love fest has turned into a Diversity Cage Match full of rhetorical suplexes, ideological elbow drops, and plenty of outside interference. Howard Dean is our hapless referee and Reverend Funk seems to have turned on his former tag team partner, St. O’Bama, seemingly giving the advantage to everyone’s favorite bad guy, Billary. Who will go on to face the veteran Johnny Ace for the Championship?
Stay tuned, this is only going to get better.

Dear Rev. Wright:
Bombastic political religiosity? Check.
Musical references? Check.
Otherwise irrelevant old men DANCING away Obama’s “hope?” Check.
And just to completely blow your mind, WRESTLEMANIA references.
Yep, we’ve got it all - this is the best election cycle ever! Obama is desperately trying to not be marginalized as the Jesse Jackson candidate, and every time he starts to succeed, Jeremiah (not the bullfrog) provides another round of GOP soundbytes. Jeremiah, I’d just like to reiterate what my colleague wrote above - we really couldn’t do it without ya, big guy!
Much love from a grateful nation,
The Republican Party

My favorite from Wright was his messianic type claim that if you attack him you attack the black church . . . if we take this logic to its inevitable conclusion he claims to speak for all black people.
In which case, I propose a cage match between Wright, Sharpton, and Jackson.

If this Wright thing is the worst we’re going to be able to trot out against Obama, we’re really screwed.

Well Bert, you have to understand that this is in addition to the fact that Obama would be a fiscal mess, continue the destruction of human life, make Iraq a colossal failure, wreck foreign policy, weaken the military, take our guns, increase the size of the federal government, welcome illegal immigrants with open arms, expand welfare, and continue to increase the deficit. Shall we continue? Oh yeah…AND there’s his racist pastor. Please. This is just the icing on the cake.

Yeah, his association with Bill Ayers is worse, IMO. Ayers is an unrepentant terrorist who thinks he didn’t commit enough violent acts. The fact that Obama has had a professional association with Ayers will come out before November. Plus, look what Wright has done to Obama’s poll numbers over the past month. His favorability, matchups against Clinton, even his numbers against McCain have gone down b/c of Wright. Wright makes Obama look exactly like the type of politician he’s been bashing for nearly a year. That’s the key to beating him, making him look like the fraud he is.
