The University: A Safe Haven for Liberals

Hello Virginia CRs!
Its that time of year again, when colleges and universities have “one last stand” to finish brainwashing young adults into good little liberals like they are supposed to be.
Below is a small list of the liberals that got to partake in the brainwashing:

Tim Kaine to Virginians: “Stay off the Roads”

I want to first off thank the CRFV for giving me the chance to share my thoughts, insights and analysis on the issues most pressing to us. I am also the creator of the GMU College Republican blog, so I am hoping maybe a few of you have already read some of my writings. Now with that out of the way, apparently if you do not like taxes, you need to stay off the roads. Read More

Quote of the Day

“A desire to express themselves and a determination to use blogs and social networking sites like Facebook and Myspace to circumvent censorship has created a thrilling equation in the Arab world: one man/woman + internet = very angry dictator”.

Quote of the Day

“What happens to the Republicans in 2008 will likely be dictated by what didn’t happen in 2005, and ‘06, and ‘07. The moment when the party could have broken, on principle, with the administration – over the thinking behind and the carrying out of the war, over immigration, spending and the size of government – […]

An AP photo, supposedly from Iraq, showing a civilian having a bullet removed from her arm.  Hmm, let’s count the ways this is a fake.

Republican Renewal

“Biggest Government Ever” was the headline on Drudge linking this article. The frightening thing is that nearly all this expansion occurred under traitorous Republican leadership. Whether it was Medicare Part D, nation-building operations in Iraq and Afghanistan, No Child Left Behind or any other of the bank-busting do-gooderies dreamt up by our friends in Washington, the philosophical moorings of the party seem to have been detached. There is a serious need for a Republican Renewal, a return to philosophy. Ron Paul’s new book is an excellent introduction to the conservative ideas of yore and the principles of the Old Right, exemplified by “Mr. Republican”, Robert Taft. Also, George Nash’s Book, The Conservative Intellectual Movement in America, is a fine primer on the variances in conservative thought.  Read More

Fairfax County Perspective

Turns out Fairfax County’s teachers aren’t getting the 1% cost of living increase that had been in the works, because now that money is going to cover the increased costs to the school system of all the illegal immigrants who have recently migrated to Fairfax from Prince William. That’s according to the superintendent. What we need in Fairfax is someone like Corey Stuart who can deal with the problem head on, instead of fearfully skirting the issue, trying not to offend anyone or appear racist. Read More

Hello VA College Republicans-
According to politico.com, The McCain campaign is seriously considering Governor Bobby Jindal for the VP nomination.
