Fairfax County Perspective

Turns out Fairfax County’s teachers aren’t getting the 1% cost of living increase that had been in the works, because now that money is going to cover the increased costs to the school system of all the illegal immigrants who have recently migrated to Fairfax from Prince William. That’s according to the superintendent. What we need in Fairfax is someone like Corey Stuart who can deal with the problem head on, instead of fearfully skirting the issue, trying not to offend anyone or appear racist.

Also, while I’m glad that the Governor has decided to deal with the transportation problem, I’m appalled by the idea that they would attempt to raise the sales tax in Nova by a cent. Why only Nova? As it is those of us in northern Virginia already pay more into the state ‘pot’ than the rest of the state combined and we get only a small portion of that back. We do need a way to raise a Billion dollars to deal with all the transportation issues, but targeting Nova isn’t the way. Yes, we need more work than the rest of the state but lets make it fair lets all pay the additional cent in sales tax if that’s what we are implementing.

I’m pretty sure Timmy’s tax for transportation plan isn’t just bad because he has a targeted tax increase . . .

He is raising prices of selling houses just when the real estate market is sliding in and out of a crisis. That is simply nuts.

He is ignoring the referedums in Nova and Hampton Roads that rejected a tax increase.

. . . and didn’t Kaine promise not to raise our taxes???

Why only Nova?

Uh… re-read please.

A 1-cent-on-the-dollar regional sales tax increase in Hampton Roads and Northern Virginia, the state’s two most congested regions. Taxes on food and over-the-counter medicines would be exempt from the increase.
