YouTube and Google: Areas of National Security?

In a press release on the Senate Committee on Homeland Security website, Chairman Joseph Lieberman called upon you-tube to remove Internet video content produced by terrorist organizations such as Al-Qaeda.

According to the press release, “The videos – readily available on YouTube –show assassinations, deaths of U.S. soldiers and civilians, weapons training, incendiary speeches by al-Qaeda leadership, and other material intended to encourage violence against the West.”

The next day youtube deleted 80 videos.
What do my fellow VA College Republicans think of this incident?

Eh…I think YouTube deletes some content daily, whether or not a senator asks them to do so. I also think that painting this as censorship would be irresponsible, because nobody MADE YouTube do anything - or encouraged them to do anything out of the ordinary.

Long story short: There’s nothing to see here, folks…just another instance of a bored senator :D

but on the other hand, if our senators are that bored don’t you think the people ought to kick them in the butt and make them do something worthwhile? Something we actually care about?
