YR/CR/RPV Challenge
You may have heard about the AG/LG/RPV Challenge where each unit is encouraged to double their membership for financial incentives. Well, that challenge is being extended to the CRs and YRs. Chapter Chairman should have gotten an e-mail from Richard Crouse of RPV today, but just in case you didn’t, I’ve pasted it below. If you have any questions, please contact me at 434-989-7956 or samanthacbradshaw@gmail.com.
Chairmen:
The true strength of our Republican Party starts at the local grassroots level with dedicated activists spreading our message to their friends, neighbors and family members. As you all know, YOU are the future of the Republican Party and building and energizing our party’s activists this year is a top priority for us. That is why we’re writing to strongly urge you to join us in our CR/YR/RPV Challenge to strengthen our party by dramatically increasing our grassroots team.
The goal is simple: use the interest and excitement generated by the 2008 election to double the size and strength of your Republican chapter by October 1st, in preparation for the November federal election -to ensure a victory for McCain, Gilmore and our Congressional candidates.
Consider the tremendous difference that dozens of committed new grassroots activists will make in your locality –knocking on doors, putting up signs, attending events and e-mailing friends, and neighbors in support of our conservative values.
How will we do it? With your help, we will reach out in a personal way to like-minded young professionals and college students. Here is what Attorney General McDonnell, Lieutenant Governor Bolling and Chairman Frederick will provide you.
· Any organization that accomplishes its goal of doubling their membership* by October 1st will receive a “Challenge Bonus” of $500.
· Provide ideas, support staff to administer the program and create enthusiastic messaging.
· Help grow the chapter for the future in creating continuity and structure.
We ask you to do the following:
· Determine a location and date for a membership outreach event. Invite your member of Congress and General Assembly and local official to headline the event.
· Provide refreshments and materials and enthusiasm at the outreach event.
· Commit to making volunteer phone calls to follow up on the outreach event
If you and your chapter are willing to participate in this important event, please e-mail us today by contacting Trixie Averill or Richard Crouse.

While our Virginia Republican Party faces significant challenges we also have a great story of accomplishments to tell. We have the opportunity this year to build our Republican Party into an even more dynamic organization committed to the bedrock principles of limited government, individual freedom, traditional values and a better quality of life for all Virginians.
But it all begins with your strong and energetic leadership at the local level. We hope you will take us up on this important challenge today.
CR guidelines:
· The challenge will start on August 15 and will end on Oct 1st. Each chapter must submit their current roster so that there is a “starting point” for the challenge.
· In order to meet the challenge each chapter either has to double their membership if it is an existing chapter or for a small chapter reach 25 members, which-ever one is greater
· These new members are required to attend three consecutive meetings.
· Each chapter must engage in volunteer activities as needed by the campaigns.
· Each new member should engage in at least one volunteer campaign activity.
