Teleprompters at a town hall?
That’s right. Barack Obama has to use teleprompters at town hall meetings.
The news was announced at CNN, of all places. Once he was giving a speech and the teleprompter failed, so he stoped. When that happened to Sarah Palin, she kept going, and owned the crowd. Hillary Clinton was right, speeches don’t win you the Presidency. As the days go by, this is starting to look like 2004’s campaign. The Democrats may do well in the Senate and in the House, but it looks like Barack won’t win. This website here, which predicts the outcome of the electoral college, has McCain beating Obama 288.3 to 249.7. Any comments?

Actually, the teleprompter did not fail. Tucker Bounds confirmed this and Palin was making that up. I’m sorry but attacking Obama for using a teleprompter is pretty ridiculous. Criticize his policies all you want (I certainly do) but this? Wow.

I think that Obama’s use of a teleprompter at campaign rallies is definitely a mark against him. if he’s giving a set speech, fine, I saw McCain do it in Fairfax last week. But he should be able to go on w/o it.
I have always thought that McCain’s ability to ‘wing it’ has always been one of his greatest strengths. Don’t we want our political leaders to, among other things, speak with us rather than simply appear in front of us? Obama should have had enough confidence in himself and his beliefs to ‘wing it’ once in a while.
